There are few people who are not familiar with A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. The story of Ebeneezer Scrooge, and how he learned to love Christmas, has delighted readers for generations. Sitting at my keyboard one day a few weeks back, I had this brilliant idea; this tale has been parodied, adapted, and otherwise used and misused dozens, if not hundreds, of times, but I’ve never seen anything in the western genre on it. So, why not me. I played around with it for a few days, developed a list of characters and a general plot, and started writing. Out of all that came A Cowboy’s Christmas Carol, the story of Ed Summerfield, a man with a heart of stone who hates Christmas, and how visits from three spirits changed his life.
